Living Walls: a short silent documentary with recorded music

After the successful premiere of the documentary at GT22, Maribor the short documentary about our performance/exhibition (Liquid Emulsion on Wall) at the Photonic Moments Festival 2014, Ljubljana went viral!

Living Walls

Today, an average western person takes seven photographs per day. (Source: first google hit for “number of photos taken per day per person.”)
In June 2014, strange events took place in a small gallery hidden in some back alley in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Two – average or not, European or not – photographers resurrected an almost forgotten craft, producing merely three pictures in three days.
People came to wonder at this extravagant behaviour, in the end producing hundreds of images in just one summer evening.

This film is mostly about what they did not see …

A big thank you to Miha Sagadin (video) and Matija Dolenc (Music) !

Premiere: Separate. Broken by. Staring Upon. (GT22 Incubator)

GT22 incubator is an educational scenography project that, through its course, aims to uncover what is still covered in performing arts. The result was a collaboration of different artists which led to the creation of an experimental performance, called Separate. Broken By. Staring Upon. The performance was part of the post festival events Platforma po Platformi.

Lost & Found International Exhibition

Galerija Hladilnica in Pekarna (Maribor), hosted the Lost & Found International Exhibition made by the young curator duo “OUT and ABOUT”.

The theme of the exhibition evolves around transitioning from one living space to another and how it affects individual on a personal level. Inspired by the experiences of foreigners currently residing in Maribor, it concentrates on the inner adjustments of the persona and how the so-called ‘cultural shock’ contributes to the loss and discovery of oneself. The selection depicts the subjects literary, allegorically and, on occasion, somehow symbolically. It addresses the viewer to judge his own reflection of oneself in a background of merging cultures.

Toilet Project #6

I was invited by Društvo Rezidenca Maistrova to participate in a project which opened up the question of alternative spaces & exhibitions. All of the exhibitions/interventions where set in different public toilets in Maribor, Slovenia. I’ve decided to participate with my own project, which was part public space and part photographic intervention.

Living Walls – Performance/Exhibition

Our performance/exhibition named Living Walls (Žive Stene) – Photonic Moments 2014 was a full success. We transformed the gallery space into a darkroom and made our first photographic triptych on the wall! The audience got the chance to witness the creation of the last photograph – live accompanied with live music performed by Matija Dolenc (In Audio We Trust).

The Birth of a Darkroom – Mišnica

A short inverted story behind how we built our luxurious darkroom in GT22, Maribor (Slovenia) … Of course, the darkroom is finished only after the first film and the first print have been developed.
